What Is CYOC?
Create Your Own Challenge is Cadoo's challenge creation tool. Brands (or any user) can design a custom fitness challenge by selecting:
- Activity type: Running, walking, pushups, situps, squats, cycling, swimming, and more
- Daily goals: Steps, distance, reps, or workout frequency
- Duration: 3 to 40 days
- Entry fee: $10 to $1,000 per participant
- Game mode: Marathon (complete your goals) or Elimination (top 50% win)
- Additional prize pool: Up to $10,000 in sponsored prizes
- Visibility: Public (discoverable by all users), private (link-only), or group-only

Launching a new running shoe? Create a 30-day running challenge where participants run in your shoe and compete for a brand-funded prize pool. Every participant interacts with your brand daily for an entire month.

Prize Pool Strategy
CYOC supports two prize models:
- Entry-fee funded: Participants stake their own money. Winners take from losers. Zero cost to the brand beyond setup.
- Brand-sponsored: Add an additional prize pool (up to $10,000) funded by the brand. This makes the challenge free or low-cost for participants while the brand drives engagement. A 10% setup fee applies to brand-funded prize pools.
For maximum participation, consider sponsoring the entry fee so the challenge is free to join. Free challenges with brand-funded prizes see the highest engagement rates.
Measuring Results
Every CYOC challenge provides verified engagement data:
- Participant count: How many people joined your challenge
- Completion rate: What percentage finished
- Daily engagement: Activity logged per participant per day
- Duration of engagement: Total days each participant was active
