What is CadooVision form scoring?
CadooVision is Cadoo's on-device and server-side form scoring system. It watches your video, tracks your joint angles with a pose detection model, and grades every rep from 0 to 100% based on depth, lockout, and body position. Your Credited Reps — the reps that actually count toward your game — are calculated from your raw reps times your average form score.
The Credited Reps formula
Every Cadoo game that uses CadooVision runs this math on your submission:
Credited Reps = Attempted Reps × Average Form Score
Example: you record 10 pushups with an 85% average form score. Your Credited Reps = 10 × 0.85 = 8.5.
Minimum form score: 60%
Any individual rep scored below 60% does not count at all. 60% is the floor — you must at least complete the movement in a recognizable form. Reps scored 60–100% contribute to your average.
What CadooVision measures, by activity
Pushup form scoring
- Depth (40% of score) — Elbow angle at the bottom. 90° or less = full depth score.
- Lockout (25% of score) — Elbow angle at the top. 160° or more = full lockout score.
- Body Line (35% of score) — Hip angle. Straight from head to heels = full body line score.
Squatup form scoring
- Depth (40% of score) — Knee angle at the bottom. 90° or less = full depth score.
- Lockout (25% of score) — Knee angle at the top. 160° or more = full extension.
- Torso (35% of score) — Chest upright, no forward collapse.
Situp form scoring
- Trunk Flexion — Shoulders 30° or more off the ground.
- Knee Position — Knees stay bent around 90° throughout.
- Control — Smooth movement up and down, no jerking or dropping.
Why quality beats quantity on Cadoo
A common mistake is rushing through reps. Here's what happens when you do:
- 10 shallow pushups at 40% form = 0 Credited Reps (all below the 60% threshold)
- 5 full pushups at 90% form = 4.5 Credited Reps
One good rep beats ten bad ones. Every time.
Real-time form score vs server-side form score
Cadoo runs form scoring in two places:
- On-device (during your practice rep) — A lightweight pose model evaluates your practice rep in real time and gives you an instant 0–100% score. This is the gate that lets you start recording.
- Server-side (after you submit) — The full CadooVision model runs on your uploaded video with the more detailed scoring algorithm described above. This is what determines your official Credited Reps.
The server-side score is authoritative. The practice rep score is a preview.
Frequently asked questions about form scoring
What's the minimum form score per rep?
60%. Reps below 60% don't count and aren't included in your average.
How long does server-side scoring take?
Typically 10–20 seconds per video after upload. You'll see the result once processing completes.
Why did my Credited Reps come out lower than I counted?
Because Credited Reps are weighted by your form score. If your average form score was 70%, only 70% of your raw reps credit.
Can I see my form score per rep?
You see your average form score on your submission. Per-rep scoring detail is available in development / debug mode but isn't yet exposed in the main user interface.
